Woof woof bow bow gewoofen

Posted : 16 years, 12 months ago on 10 May 2007 12:30 (A review of Kommissar Rex)

I am sorry I do not know what is German with an Austrian accent for dog. It is a quality police dog drama well written, and the alsation is a very clever actor. He could go to Hollywood and be successful as a movie star and then run for state governor?

Where is my mind

Posted : 16 years, 12 months ago on 10 May 2007 10:15 (A review of William McGonagall Meets George Gershwin: A Scottish Fantasy)

This is the kind of book I want to write. It is therapeutic dislexia for the imagination heralding the adventures of Scotland's worst ever poet and a musical virtuoso in an around the world kontiki of surrealness, stupidity and childish amusement. If this is your kind of thing HOORAY!

Wee Wee Poo Poo

Posted : 16 years, 12 months ago on 10 May 2007 09:49 (A review of Tom Green - Subway Monkey Hour)

Aghhh. Tom does more cerebral damage to Japan than Godzilla did structural remodelling. From Elvis karaoke at sacred shrines to the snow monkey locked in the wagon experiment to the wagon full of chickens experiment to the amazing wee wee poo poo song in a crowded shopping mall Tom does for cultural exchange between North America and Japan what has not been achieved since oohh I dunno, Pearl Harbour? It leaves you asking did this video really happen?

A seminal thriller in more than one sens

Posted : 16 years, 12 months ago on 10 May 2007 08:57 (A review of Dressed to Kill)

Angie Dickinson NUDE! Then it gets a bit weird and boring and I start to go to sleep. Good in early venture to the world of erotic thriller. Michael Caine is just unbelievable!

Amazing

Posted : 16 years, 12 months ago on 10 May 2007 07:33 (A review of The Boys from Brazil )

An all star cast, highly polished and entertaining performances from those luminaries, and an enthralling and extraordinary storyline. Makes the description "classic" pretty understated. This pwnz any other film about large scale cloning of an infamous dictator.

All the radio hits

Posted : 16 years, 12 months ago on 10 May 2007 07:12 (A review of The Best Of The Doors)

This has the all the songs most people would know who are not particularly Doors aficionados but like what they did. If you don't really need an album collection but like the idea of having some of the Morrison toons handy this is one to go for. Probably good for parties, cone pulling sessions etc

Best of the angry doctors

Posted : 16 years, 12 months ago on 9 May 2007 12:24 (A review of House M.D.)

Recent years have seen a trend of quirky grumpy doctor shows starting with Ted Danson in Becker, the english program Dr Marten and this one staring English comedian Hugh Laurie as a fairly convincing but insane American. Dr. House in my humble opinion is a brilliantly performed and written character and a much needed bit of uniqueness even if the premiss is not.

A pop masterpiece

Posted : 16 years, 12 months ago on 9 May 2007 12:05 (A review of Duplicate)

Hooray for this. This is one of the last great pop albums. Even your dead great grandmother can not help but shake her groove thing to "hit me baby one more time". Every song is just so beautiful I could make a laughing cow sandwich with vita wheats..Hello Belgians!
Just like Britney sometimes I am scared of myself but wow! Way before the sinead o'connorness of stupid style. Ooop I did it again was also wonderful but the rest after was whack, or pants if you prefer. Oh Britney you make me crazy but it feel alright

Not that queer..

Posted : 16 years, 12 months ago on 7 May 2007 07:12 (A review of Queer as Folk)

This is about a nice bunch of girls and boys who are so happy that they are gay. They are funny and entertaining and it is like a homosexual days of our lives only without frosted lenses to disguise all the people's wrinkles. They seem to have quite a lot of sex. In days of our lives they just argue lots about sex.
They seem to be much nicer than a lot of the gay people in my town. But they are all Canadians here pretending to be from Pittsburgh even though they are much too polite to be from Pittsburgh.
I like the mummy, she is funny and ridiculous like an old age Rosie O'Donnell. It was sad when the uncle died. But there are lots of happy things too.

Silly, but better than the Wedding Singe

Posted : 16 years, 12 months ago on 7 May 2007 06:40 (A review of Detroit Rock City (New Line Platinum Series))

This is a movie that tries too hard to market to middle aged people who where teenagers in the late 70s. But it does get the point across that it was a fun to time be young and be alive, like anyone who is old enough to remember needs reminding, unless of course they where teenagers or young adults at the time and probably had too much fun to remember anything.
It is more authentic looking than many modern day efforts that try to recapture the 70s and or 80s and that is to it's credit. They did a great job with casting. Like kid with the beenie he's quite funny, that dude with the army jacket..eh seriously they have cloned Michael J Fox right.
Somebody tries to convey in the extras that this was Kiss's first motion picture, I think completely discounting, and maybe deliberately, "KISS meets the Phantom of the Park".
I quite this, it is good no brain escape. Shake your pee pee and get $100
